In  Memory of  Eugene H. Leavitt
March 27, 1915 to May 27, 2005

Gene is remembered with love. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mina, whom he affectionately called “the Admiral.”  He let everyone know he was her “Swabby.”  He was a loving father to his five children. His grandchildren and great grandchildren called him “Opa” with much love and affection.

He was a faithful friend and confidante to many and he dearly loved his comrades from the LST 793.  He always looked forward to the annual reunions and other get togethers.

He is gone from your presence but not our hearts.

What can I say - what a wonderful man!  Everyone always sounded "beautiful" to him and he was always so thankful for anything you did.  I loved that man.  I miss him.
